Today's Class

Today in class I showed my three compositional ideas. I was leaning to doing Gareth Morgan in the woods killing cats (thumbnail number 2 in earlier post). However Matt and Claire said that the narrative of Gareth terrorising a town would work better compositionally and be more impactful which I agree with now.

Refining composition

Ive narrowed down to three compositional ideas

1. Is what was suggested in interim, Gareth over town

2. Gareth in woods with dead cats behind him and someone hiding behind tree watching

3. Gareth in woods chasing a cat which is running off the composition

The other image is what I was thinking in terms on perspective for the two in the woods.

Artist Model

i have been looking at work by Gerhard Human and want to use him as my artist model because I really like his use of line and colour. His website

Interim

I developed one of my thumbnails for interim, I drew it in ink and then scanned it into photoshop and added tone. Only black and white at this stage as I'm not sure on the colours yet.

The feedback I got was that it looked too vampirish and that the narrative was missing a lot of things such as the cats and the onlookers. It was suggested that I draw Gareth Morgan really large over a town of people fleeing with their cats which I like the idea of.
